Bruno Windels	c920dd2e8a	check top of node instead of bottom, since coming in from last ... as we're approaching from the last node, if we're scrolled up, the first node we encounter would be below the bottom of the viewport change the logic to stop at the first node that has its top above the viewport bottom. When completely scrolled up, this was causing nodes way below the viewport to be selected as the reference for the pixelOffset, and when pagination came in, it would immediately try to apply the big negative pixelOffset, scrolling to a negative scrollTop, thus going to the top again, and triggering another pagination, entering in an infinite pagination loop until you scrolled down.	2019-02-26 16:26:24 +01:00

Travis Ralston	5f760fbf4a	Change the room list algo to eagerly delete and carefully insert ... Previously it made some complicated assumptions about the contexts it was called in (it generally assumed it just had to shuffle rooms between tags and didn't really handle new rooms very well). The algorithm now eagerly tries to drop rooms from tags and carefully inserts them. The actual insertion logic is mostly untouched: the only part changed is how it handles failure to insert into tag. It shouldn't be possible for this algorithm to completely skip a room unless the tag is empty, so we special case that. There are several TODO comments to be addressed here. Namely, it doesn't handle manually ordered tags (favourites, custom, etc) and doesn't check if tags are even enabled. Changes in this area are waiting for https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-react-sdk/pull/2686 to land to take advantage of monitoring the settings flag for tags.	2019-02-24 19:45:23 -07:00

Travis Ralston	e7b3cbfdf4	Fix categorization of favourites and new rooms ... New rooms (joined, invited, created, etc) were being ignored because they matched the check as soon as the iterator hit a non-recents section. This fixes the check to ensure there's a positive ID on the room being in the tag (or not, in the case of new rooms) before lying to the rest of the function. Additionally, a fix for favourites has been included to stop the list expanding to fill the void - turns out it was inserting the room twice into the list, and this was breaking the tile rendering. The room sublist would allocate space for the tile, but React would prevent the tile from showing up because of duplicate keys. The labs setting has been removed in order to support this change. In addition to removing the old components outright, some older components which were only used by the settings pages have been removed. The exception is the ColorSettings component as it has a high chance of sticking around in the future. Styles that were shared by the settings components have been broken out to dedicated sections, making it easier to remove the old styles entirely. All the settings changed are boolean values, so this should be more than safe to just let happen throughout the SettingsStore. Typically a change like this would be done in the individual handlers (similar to how setting names are remapped to different properties or even different storage locations on the fly), however doing that for this many settings would be a huge nightmare and involve changing *all* the layers. By putting a global "invert this" flag on the setting, we can get away with doing the inversion as the last possible step during a read (or write). To speed up calculations of the default values, we cache all the inverted values into a lookup table similar to how we represent the defaults already. Without this, the DefaultHandler would need to iterate the setting list and invert the values, slowing things down over time. We invert the value up front so we can keep the generic inversion logic without checking the level ahead of time. It is fully intended that a default value represents the new setting name, not the legacy name. This commit also includes a debugger for settings because it was hard to visualize what the SettingsStore was doing during development. Some added information is included as it may be helpful for when someone has a problem with their settings and we need to debug it. Typically the debugger would be run in conjunction with `mxSendRageshake`: `mxSettingsStore.debugSetting('showJoinLeaves') && mxSendRageshake('Debugging showJoinLeaves setting')`.	2019-01-24 20:57:40 -07:00

As non-sized items still have flex-basis: auto, they would claim all the space, and mixing sized and unsized items would be badly broken. Now, on the first click, all items are sized to their rendered size which means they won't flex anymore, but at least the resizing works this way Another downside is that when resizing while a sublist is collapsed, it's reverted to 100px and if a size had been set before, it's forgotten. Without this patch, both of those cached types would be cleared from the object where a later call to `getRoomState` would try and re-populate them. `getRoomState` is supposed to use the cache where possible to avoid making the more expensive calls required to calculate those booleans. On my account in a test environment, this brings the `generateRoomLists` execution time down from ~250ms to just ~30ms. After applying that fix, going between pages worked great unless you were going from /login to /home. This is because the MatrixChat state machine was now out of sync (a `view` of `LOGIN` but a `page` of `HomePage` - an invalid state). All we have to do here is ensure the right view is used when navigating to the homepage. Fixes https://github.com/vector-im/riot-web/issues/4061 Note: the concerns in 4061 about logging out upon entering the view appear to have been solved.
