If someone named "TravisR" was being searched for with just "Travis", the last R in their name would be cut off because of the highlighting. Entering "TravisR" would restore it. Fixes https://github.com/vector-im/riot-web/issues/12423 When events are redacted they fail to make it into the Grouper because the `shouldAddEvent` check blocks them from entering. However, the grouper expects that when `getTiles()` is called that there's events to group and dutifully grabs some context from the array. Because JavaScript is the least helpful language, `myArray[-1]` returns `undefined` or `null` and thus you get `cannot read 'sender' of undefined`. Matthew Hodgson	7696f704b2	Fix two big DOM leaks which were locking Chrome solid. ... pillifyLinks leaked Pill components, which if they contained a BaseAvatar would leak a whole DOM tree retained by the BaseAvatar's onClientSync event listener. This tracks the Pill containers so they can be unmounted via unmountPills. BasicMessageComposer set an event listener on selectionchange in onFocus which leaked if onBlur wasn't called. This removes it in unmount. We've also seen Velociraptor retaining full DOM trees from RRs, which this doesn't address as the leak is probably within Velocity, and the plan is to replace it with CSS animations. Aaron Raimist	d3367834d0	Fix redo keyboard shortcut on macOS ... I added the correct macOS shortcut for redo which is Cmd+Shift+Z. I had to reorder the if statement so redo is checked first, otherwise it would detect the undo first and never check that I was actually trying to redo. Damir Jelić	1897d67818	EventIndexPanel: Catch getStats failures. ... Getting the stats can fail when used with Seshat. Tantivy periodically garbage collects its files. Smaller files are merged and the old ones are removed. If garbage collection occurs while we try to get the stats, which go trough the files and figure out their sizes, we can end up trying to figure out the file size of a removed file. The getStats call will fail in this case but we can ignore the failure since we will likely get a nice result next time we try.	2020-02-20 14:46:10 +01:00

Marco Zehe	b83bc7db68	Always speak the full text of the typing indicator when it updates. ... By default, aria-live regions only speak partial updates. However in the case of the typing indicator, if it goes from one person typing to several, and back, the updated text would only be spoken in fragments by screen readers. Adding the aria-atomic attribute with a value of true makes screen readers always speak the full update for this tile, making the experience much nicer. Travis Ralston	20a615396b	Implementation of new potential skinning mechanism ... With a switch to Only One Webpack™ we need a way to help developers generate the component index without a concurrent watch task. The best way to do this is to have developers import their components, but how do they do that when we support skins? The answer in this commit is to change skinning. Skinning now expects to receive your list of overrides instead of the react-sdk+branded components. For Riot this means we send over *only* the Vector components and not Vector+react-sdk. Components can then be annotated with the `replaceComponent` decorator to have them be skinnable. The decorator must take a string with the dot path of the component because we can't reliably calculate it ourselves, sadly. The decorator does a call to `getComponent` which is where the important part of the branded components not including the react-sdk is important: if the branded app includes the react-sdk then the decorator gets executed before the skin has finished loading, leading to all kinds of fun errors. This is also why the skinner lazily loads the react-sdk components to avoid importing them too early, breaking the app. The decorator will end up receiving null for a component because of the getComponent loop mentioned: the require() call is still in progress when the decorator is called, therefore we can't error out. All usages of getComponent() within the app are safe to not need such an error (the return won't be null, and developers shouldn't use getComponent() after this commit anyways). The AuthPage, being a prominent component, has been converted to demonstrate this working. Changes to riot-web are required to have this work. The reskindex script has also been altered to reflect these skinning changes - it no longer should set the react-sdk as a parent. The eventual end goal is to get rid of `getComponent()` entirely as it'll be easily replaced by imports.	2019-12-12 19:48:45 -07:00

Ban list rules only show up in ban list rooms and rarely show up in public rooms, hence the somewhat vague messaging. Makes each button span into a button with a tabindex and an aria-label. 3. Constructs an alternative label that differs slightly from the text displayed by the tool tip: * It uses the names of the people who reacted. * It puts a space before the "reacted with" text. * It uses the actual emoji characters, not the converted colon-delimited shortNames, because the emojis usually tell blind users more about the expression. * It omits the number of reactions, since that information is already conveyed by the names. This results in `this._mounted` being falsey all the time, preventing the ReadReceiptMarker from hitting the code where it updates rrInfo in its unmount. The velocity stuff is smart enough to realize that it has a read receipt and shuffles everything over by one, but when it goes to check the starting height (which will be null/undefined because the RRMarker didn't update it) it assumes it has never seen the receipt before and appends it again - this is what causes some holes/stacking. By forcefully binding the `this._isUnmounting` function we ensure that the `this._mounted` variable is correctly referenced in the context of the MessagePanel, allowing the RRMarker to update its position, and therefore allowing the velocity behaviour to be consistent.	2019-11-28 19:45:37 -07:00

The deactivate account dialog tried to shake the password box on an incorrect password but it didn't work because we don't import velocity-ui anywhere. Looks like we forgot to import it in DeactivateAccountDialog.js and were relying on it being imported elsewhere (so probably broke when BottomLeftMenu got removed). We already intercepted most of the cases where no integration manager was present, though there was a bug in many components where openAll() would be called regardless of an integration manager being available. The integration manager being disabled by the user is handled in the IntegrationManager classes rather than on click because we have quite a few calls to these functions. The StickerPicker is an exception because it does slightly different behaviour. This fixes the login page to be more helpful when the current homeserver is unreachable: it reveals the server change field, so you have some chance to progress forward. J. Ryan Stinnett	d72dedb0ce	Cache room alias to room ID mapping in memory ... This adds very basic cache (literally just a `Map` for now) to store room alias to room ID mappings. The improves the perceived performance of Riot when switching rooms via browser navigation (back / forward), as we no longer try to resolve the room alias every time.
