+We are using the internationalization feature provided by Qt, hence it is important that you have qt-linguist software in order to work on the translation file.

+== Get the translation file ==
+First of all, you need to get the latest translation file available. If this is a new translation, you can get the default translation file [http://gitorious.org/qbittorrent/qbittorrent/blobs/raw/master/src/lang/qbittorrent_en.ts here].

+If you downloaded the default translation file, then you must rename the file according to your locale.

+* [[file:Partial.png]] Partially translated or unsure (Must check it and then click on the ''?'' to set as ''Translated'')

+We tried not to put much html code in the translatable strings but some of them still contain some html tags in them. If it is the case, please recopy the html tags in the translation ''as is'' and translate the rest of the string. the html '''MUST''' be present in the translation and at the same location.

+These were introduced to give the translator more flexibility. They must appear ''as is'' in the translated string but their location ''can'' change (this is the point). Some languages require that some words are moved in the sentence in order to be undertandable. (i.e: "Finished to download %1." can be translated in french as "Le téléchargement de %1 est terminé.")

+Sometimes, it may be important to understand to context in order to translate well. This is why I sometimes include comments in the translation files. They appear on a blue background in QtLinguist. Of course, you must translate the source sentence only, not the comment.
