747f9fba38 Only set title when it changes 
I've seen Chromium constantly refresh the title in the developer tools.
To be honest, I'm not sure if this means Chromium wastes CPU
time changing a title, but this may introduce better performance.

8962f7ae9e Convert CallHandler to typescript 
and remove the old conference call stuff while we're at it: enough
time should have passed since those mistakes that we can move on.
The old conference call rooms will still appear for anyone whose
account dates back to that time, but they've presumably been appearing
in any other matrix client they used too.

26b18811ce Add some permission checks to the communities v2 prototype 
Prototype behaviour:
* If you can't create a room in the community, say so.
  * The UX for this could probably be improved, but for now the intention is to not break muscle memory by hiding the create room option.
* If you can't change settings in the community, or can't invite people, don't show those respective options.
  * Breaking muscle memory here is moderately okay.

24d0950b7e Adjust layout and formatting of notifications / file cards 
This follows some polish time with a designer.

The placeholder text on the two panels was tracking up/down when the width was changed. This is fixed by adjusting some of the flexbox properties to center it more safely. 

We also spent some time making the notifications panel more legible while we wait for the overhaul to land.

8129333dcc Make the PIP Jitsi look and feel like the 1:1 PIP 
* Similar sizing
* Fix pointers so the jitsi widget doesn't feel clickable when it's not
  * We might want to introduce click-to-visit-room for the Jitsi widget (like the 1:1 call), however the Jitsi widget has many more controls to worry about
* Remove the menu bar from the widget to avoid accidents

1ffc6d5bd3 Make the hangup button do things for conference calls 
Behaviour constraints:
* If you're not in the conference, use a grey button that does nothing.
* If you're in the conference, show a button:
  * If you're able to modify widgets in the room, annotate it in the context of ending the call for everyone and remove the widget. Use a confirmation dialog.
  * If you're not able to modify widgets in the room, hang up.

For this we know that persistent Jitsi widgets will mean that the user is in the call, so we use that to determine if they are actually participating.

46f37fb969 Create cross-signing keys during authentication 
With this change, Element now creates cross-signing keys during auth flows for
password login. For other auth flows like token / SSO, it will not happen until
a cross-signing / secret storage dialog flow as before.

Since we've stored the invite, we can send the user to it once they reload the page or revisit Element. We currently only support one invite at a time, but this should be fine for most cases. 

We only do this restoration if the next screen isn't set to avoid breaking the user out of an expected flow.

As an added touch, this also ensures that the email address is pre-filled on the registration page if needed, just in case the user refreshes before getting to the submit button.

db61d343f5 Add option to send/edit a message with Ctrl + Enter / Command + Enter 
When editing multi-line text this option helps to prevent accidentally
sending a message too early. With this option, Enter just inserts a new
line.

For example, composing programming code in a dev chat becomes much
easier when Enter just inserts a new line instead of sending the
message.

bbe2084f66 Add independent set up / reset actions in Settings 
This adds set up and reset actions to each of cross-signing and secure backup
that do separate things, rather than mixing concerns together. (It's temporarily

c815a370e7 Remove some unused components 
We no longer have tinting support, so remove it. We still need the `Tinter` to exist though as it's used in quite a few places (though does nothing). Similarly, we have to keep the `roomColor` setting due to it being used in a few places - another PR can take away the tinter support properly.

The room tile context menu and top left menu are artifacts of the old room list.

The end to end tests weren't failing before as the code path is unused, however it seems worthwhile to keep it as we will eventually need it.

This is in two parts itself: The `RoomSublist` needs to break its references to the `RoomListStore`, so it now clones the room arrays. The `Algorithm` is the other part, which is slightly more complicated.

It turns out that we weren't handling splicing as a change in the `ImportanceAlgorithm`, therefore the `Algorithm` wasn't really feeling like it needed to change anything. Further, the `Algorithm` was using the wrong reference to where it should be dumping rooms (`this.cachedRooms` is a getter which returns a different object depending on conditions), so having fixed that we need to ensure that the filtered and sticky maps are also updated when we remove a room. Because we send the new tag through a Timeline update, we'll end up updating the tag later on and don't need to update the filter and sticky collections.

We were checking to see if the tags were visible at render time, but we needed to ensure that they were(n't) included when checking for diffs. This introduces a new kind of object cloning for semantic reasons.

This also fixes the selection indicator being a bit off on custom tags.

f3320f5041 Fix key backup warning on soft logout page 
It always showed the warning (if you had at least one session key
in your store) because flagAllGroupSessionsForBackup returns the
number of keys pending backup after flagging them all for backup,
ie. all of them. Seems like the intention was to only show the
warning if there were keys that had not yet been backed up.

14b0def143 Fix echo handling and show a barebones toast on error 
The EchoTransaction was wrongly assuming that it knew better than the caller for when the success condition was met, so the echo marking has been left an exercise for the caller. In this case, we mark when we finally receive the sync with the updated rules.

We also have to cancel previous transactions otherwise if the user mashes buttons we could forever show the toast, and that would be bad.

900c234434 Internalize notification state handling for lists 
This reduces the update cost of rooms changing, and fixes a bug where when a sublist became filtered it would change the notification count of the sublist.

This does change the expected usage of the state store to ensuring that only one place updates the rooms on the list states, which is currently the room list store. Ideally the state store could listen to the room list store to update itself, however due to a complicated require() loop it is not possible.

fd15fc3984 Ensure message previews update when needed 
In 9969b01c5f we stopped updating the sublist whenever we felt like it, which indirectly froze message previews for room tiles (badges, unread state, etc were unaffected because that is managed by a different store). To fix this, we simply have to listen for changes and perform an update.

7e50464eeb Fix filtering causing sticky header artifacts 
In 7b97c3032b we reduced the RoomList updates to just added/removed sublists, but didn't consider that we might also have to handle lengths of those sublists changing enough for us to fix the sticky headers.

ad92e6ba00 Don't constantly re-mount the sublists with a new addRoomFn 
Any time we though that the room list had to re-render we were dynamically creating a new addRoomFn, which would signal to the sublist that it needed to re-render. 

The only reason we wrap the function from the aesthetics is to provide theoretical tiling/multiaccount support through use of different dispatchers, however considering that's not a reality yet we can just use a default dispatcher when none is supplied.

7b97c3032b Make the sublists aware of their own list changes 
This cuts the render time in half (from ~448ms to ~200ms on my account) per received event, as we're no longer re-mounting the entire room list and instead just the section(s) we care about.

dd16ec070c Replace countRoomsWithNotif with a dedicated NotificationState

Instead of spending 10-1000ms in a function iterating over a whole lot of room events, we can use our cached state from the Notification State Store. 

This commit sets up a structure that could be applied to communities in the TagPanel too, as that could probably use a similar optimization.

This reduces the updateStatusIndicator() time to just 4ms on average.

Design needs work, however this is behind labs anyways. This re-implements the behaviour of the old room list.

The implementation ended up being a lot easier due to early confusion with what the TagOrderStore and TagPanel take care of. Turns out they don't deal with tags, but groups. As such, we don't need to do anything with filtering (though we keep some sanity checks in place for safety), and just have to wire up the CustomRoomTagPanel and CustomRoomTagStore.

839851c90f Fix bug where 'show more' sometimes did nothing 
a3a1e2e01f added the padding
to maxTilesPx which was confusing the calculation of whether we
should be showing the 'show more' button or the 'show less' button.

Hopefully this fixes the issue without undoing fixes from
https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-react-sdk/pull/4964 or the
above commit by adding the padding in all cased in `get padding()`.

a09f773edd Tweak sticky header hiding to avoid pop 
When transitioning between sublists, there can be a visibly observable jump in
the positioning of list items when the header container is restored to normal
size outside of sticky mode.

To avoid this problem, this leaves all headers at normal size. This creates a
new issue of a permanent gap at the top of the list for the first header, but
this can be solved by always hiding (since it can only ever appear stuck to
top).

If a sublist changes from sticky top to sticky bottom in a single run of the
logic (without passing through the default state), we were leaving the previous
top position set. This handles them independently to resolve this.

The issue only applies to lists which won't have a 'show less' button, as the lists with the button would have the button's height considered when determining visible tiles. For lists that were under that (1-4 rooms), the show more button wasn't being considered and thus leading to the padding being added rather than subtracted, causing an extra tile to render.

By ensuring we include the padding for both show more and show less, we ensure that no extra tiles get rendered and that the cutoff semantics are still present.

Either shows an informational dialog telling you the name has changed,
or a more naggy one if the user needs to log in on a different URL.
The new URL (if any) is hardcoded based on the current URL, and also
with a bonus config param in case other deployments need to do similar.

47380306c2 Move and improve notification state handling 
Previously we were creating a notification state whenever we needed one, which was leading to hundreds of listeners even on a small account. To ease the burden, and reduce the load of having to wake so many listeners, we now record a single listener for each tag ID and room combination.

This commit also introduces a number of utilities to make future notification work a bit of an easier transition, such as the `isX` and `hasX` getters on the new NotificationState abstract class. Similarly, "snapshots" have been added to reduce code duplication between different kinds of states checking for updates.

The ListNotificationState is now heavily tied into the store which offers it to help reuse the cache of room notification states.

c5812d6c27 Move list layout management to its own store 
This is more general maintenance than performance as the RoomList doesn't need to be generating layouts for the sublists, and it certainly doesn't need to be creating a bunch of extra ones. 

The sublists are perfectly capable of getting their own layout instance and using it, and we are perfectly able to limit the number of these things we create through the session's lifespan.

In this demonstration, we remove the cutting line (as it collides with the tile in a weird spot) and instead replace the tile with a placeholder when the text is about to collide with the avatar in the tile. We use a `round()` for this because through some amazing coincidence the collision happens at 0.47, which is close enough to 0.5 for people not to notice.

74ca0618ac Improve scrolling performance for sticky headers 
The layout updates are anecdotal based on devtools flagging the values which are "changing" even if they aren't.  The scrolling feels better with this as well, though this might be placebo.

f9aca7c05e Avoid bounding box usage in sticky headers & improve reliability 
We now use offsets and scroll information to determine where the headers should be stuck to, still supporting the transparent background.

Some scroll jumps were originally introduced as part of the change in numbering, so they have been fixed here. By proxy, some additional scroll jump/instability should be fixed as well.

This has a lingering problem of still causing a huge number of no-op UI updates though, which will be dealt with in a future commit.

6e20850567 Remove sanity check from requestAnimationFrame 
It should be in all major browsers as of years ago, and we use it unguarded elsewhere in the app. The performance benefits of it appear to be worthwhile enough to keep it, though it's not a perfect solution.
